The overall objective of this project is to provide permanent river protection works along the Amochu and organize town and infrastructure planning for later stages of works to follow. Under the river, training works major component includes the construction of diaphragm wall, embankment works, back filling and landscaping. The implementing agency is CDCL and the package has been awarded to an Indian construction firm, Afcons Infrastructure Ltd. Rigsar Construction Pvt Ltd (RCPL )is associated as the subcontractor to Main Contractor. A total area of 162.88 acres will be made available for development in this zone. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the government are funding the project at a 70-30 ratio. ADB’s 70 percent has a grant of USD 24.26 million (M) and a loan of USD 28.74M. Rigsar Construction Pvt. Ltd has been awarded subcontracting works by AFCONS. The primary scope of work includes General earth filling works of around 3 million cu.m, embankment construction work, supply of ready-mix concrete of various grades, and supply of construction-grade material such as aggregates and sand for the entire project.

Denchukha GC

Denchukha GC

Denchukha GC road project was awarded to Rigsar Construction Pvt Ltd on 7th January 2020 with the contract amount Nu. 62.9 Million. The work consists of excavation of road formation, laying of GSB and WMM, blacktopping with 30 mm AC, construction of L-drain and other permanent structures like wall and cross drainage. The road takes off from Pooltar (a bridge across Amochu) and meanders throughout the settlement of Denchukha village and finally terminates to Denchukha Gewog. It is 17.5 km length and the road is classified as Gowog Centre Road (GC Road) with 3.5 meters’ carriage width and 1-meter drain.

Northern Bypass Road

Construction of Northern Bypass Road in Phuentsholing city will decongest the heavy traffic flow in the city and smoothen the flow of traffic upon the completion of this Bypass Road. This alternate route will provide flow of traffic of the heavy vehicles, which passes through the core city of Phuentsholing and to the adjoining Indian Border ,an important commercial entrance for major cities of Bhutan. Major Work: A 120m long pre-stressed RCC bridge rested on the RCC abutment and piers are to be constructed within the contract period of 30 months. The bridge consists of two spans of 35m long each on either side of the banks of the river and a main bridge of 50m long span. Other Works: The Bypass road of 660m long and 18m wide is to be constructed. Construct reinforced earth for bridge embankment on both sides of the bridges using reinforced earth technology. In addition; the work includes earth work, RCC retaining walls, RCC breast walls of various sizes, culvert at Km 2+000, pavement works to entire road length, drainages, road signs, lane markings, median, street lighting etc. In addition, the package consists of construction of 360m long service road connecting existing Kabraytar on the right bank of Omchhu.

Phuntshopelri To Samtse Road

The project is awarded to Rigsar Construction on 14th January 2020. The work consists of realignment, Permanent structure and Pavement works with blacktopping with AC. The road takes off from Sukti Khola of Phuntsho Pelri and connects through the settlement areas of Phuntsho Pelri Gewog and connects to Dolum Thang village. It has 14 km road length under this contract, and another 16 km of road to reach Samtse has been awarded to Tsamgar Construction. The road is classified as Gewog Center Road (GC Road) with 3.5 meters’ carriage width and 1-meter drain. This road plays an economic lifeline to the marketing of farm products and other developmental activities.
