Diana Bridge Site
The Diana Kuenphen Bridge in Samtse was inaugurated on September 16, 2023, marking a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between Bhutan and India. The 280-meter two-lane bridge was completed 14 months ahead of schedule, showcasing remarkable engineering and connectivity. The project was funded by the Government of India, highlighting the strong partnership between the two nations. Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, construction never halted, demonstrating the dedication and resilience of all involved. The bridge connects 10 Gewogs, improving transportation, stimulating economic activities, and fostering social cohesion. This achievement symbolizes the enduring cooperation and progress in the Bhutan-India partnership.
This is one of kind bridge with span of 120m pre-stressed RCC Bridge. This four lane bridge is Curved and inclined along road alignment. It has been constructed within the contract period of 30 months
